Recycling Containers to be Placed in Florissant City Parks

Florissant will start putting recyle containers in city parks in conjuction with Meridian Waste, the city’s trash and reycling hauler.

Peggy Moody, chairperson of the Environmental Quality Commission and Mayor Robert Lowery met with Chuck Barcom of Meridian Waste, and decided to put recycle containers next to the trash receptacles in all city parks at no additional cost.

A vehicle from Meridian Waste will pick up the containers three times a week. Mayor Lowery said residents can receive free recycle tote for their home, by contacting  either the Public Works Department at 839-7648 or the City’s Health Department at 839-7654. He stated that 5,000 additional totes have been acquired through a grant and will be delivered within the next few weeks.
