North County also has Greater North County Chamber
The North County Chamber of Commerce and the Northwest Chamber of Commerce announce that they are joining forces to better serve their member businesses, people, and communities. The Northwest Chamber of Commerce has acquired North County Chamber of Commerce’s membership and geographic region and will immediately begin to service their members and promote the new communities.
The other chamber of commerce in North County is the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce, which previously was the Florissant Valley Chamber of Commerce.
“It became clear it would be in the best interest of our respective Chambers, and the region as a whole, for us to join forces, said Steve Hewkin, vice president of the North County Chamber of Commerce, from Hewkin Auto Body. “This union will definitely give our Chambers a more powerful voice across a broader business community.”
The Northwest Chamber of Commerce currently services 12 communities in Northwest St. Louis County. They include: Bridgeton, Breckenridge Hills, Charlack, Earth City, Edmundson, Hazelwood, Overland, St. Ann, St. John, Sycamore Hills, Vinita Park and Woodson Terrace. Coupled with the ten communities (Bellefontaine Neighbors, Berkeley, Cool Valley, Dellwood, Ferguson, Jennings, Moline Acres, Normandy, Pasadena Hills, and Riverview) that the North County Chamber of Commerce covered, the Northwest Chamber of Commerce will now cover a total of 22 communities. This will make Northwest Chamber of Commerce one of the largest chambers of commerce in the region based on number of municipalities and geographic region.
“Our two chambers coming together just made a lot of sense,” said Larry Perney, President/CEO of the Northwest Chamber of Commerce. “Being one organization allows us to be more cost effective by eliminating duplicate expenditures and overhead expenses. In addition, our service area will cover the entire region around Lambert St. Louis International Airport, allowing us to leverage our size and position to take advantage of upcoming changes and growth in the North St. Louis County region, such as the China Hub initiative.”
