Warrants Charge 3 Men With Commerce Bank Robbery

Warrants were issued Saturday morning charging three of four suspects arrested in connection with yesterday’s armed robbery of the Commerce Bank at 8190 North Lindbergh Blvd., Florissant.

Three suspects, two armed with handguns, entered the bank at approximately 2:45 p.m on Oct. 22 and announced a robbery.  Witnesses observed the suspect flee the scene in a light blue vehicle which police located southbound on Lindbergh Blvd near I-270.  Florissant and Hazelwood Officers stopped the car on Fee Fee Rd at Lindbergh Blvd. in Hazelwood, where four suspects were arrested without incident.  Weapons and cash were recovered from the suspects and the suspect vehicle.

Warrants were issued by the St. Louis County Circuit Court charging all three suspects with three counts each of Robbery in the First Degree and three counts each of Armed Criminal Action.  Bond for each man was set at $300,000.  Charged were:

–Dwayne Harris, age 45 of the 1800 block of O’Fallon in St. Louis

–Leland M Major, age 29 of the 1400 bock of Seventy Street in St. Louis

–Willie Williams, age 48 of the 1300 block of Union Avenue in St. Louis

A fourth suspect, arrested with the others, was not formally charged at this time.  The investigation is ongoing and additional charges against the men are pending.
