McCluer, IWA, Lutheran North Host District Girls Volleyball Tournaments

McCluer High School, Incarnate Word Academy and Lutheran High School North will be hosting District Girls Volleyball Tournaments that will be played during the period of Oct. 25-28.
McCluer will host Class Four, District Six, IWA will host Class Four, District Five and Lutheran North will host Class Three, District Five. Seeds, Pairings, Dates and Times of district games are not available at press time.
The District Five winners, in Classes Three and Four, will host the Sectional Tournament Oct. 30. On that date the District Five winners will play the District Eight winners at 3 p.m., the District Six winners play the District Seven winners at 4:30 and the sectional finals, or state quarterfinals will play about 30 minutes after the completion of the second sectional games.
Going to McCluer are Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, Hazelwood West, McCluer North and Riverview Gardens. Going to IWA are Gateway Tech, Normandy, Ritenour, Roosevelt, Rosati-Kain and University City. Going to Lutheran North are Jennings, McCluer South-Berkeley, North County Tech, Soldan International Studies and Trinity Catholic.
CROSS COUNTRY — McCluer North will be hosting Class Four, District Three Oct. 23 with Chaminade, Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, Hazelwood West, Incarnate Word, McCluer, Nerinx Hall, Normandy, Ritenour, St. Joseph’s Academy, St. Louis University High and Webster Groves participating. The top four teams and runners in the top 30, boys and girls, will advance to the Sectional Two meet, Oct. 30 at McNair Park, St. Charles with the top four teams and runners in the top 30 advancing to state , Nov.
GIRLS TENNIS — Incarnate Word Academy and McCluer North will play in a Class Two Team Sectional Tournament, scheduled for Oct. 16 but could be played as early as Oct. 14, site unavailable at press time. The winner plays Parkway Central or Fort Zumwalt South Oct. 16 for the right to play Oct. 21 in Springfield. IWA defeated Parkway North, 5-1, and Pattonville, 5-2 to win Class Two, District Five while McCluer North defeated Riverview Gardens and Hazelwood Central by identical 5-0 scores in Class Five, District Six.
GIRLS GOLF –Hazelwood West junior Alicia Yn will be competing in the Class Two State Tournament Oct. 18-19 at Twin Oaks Country Club, Springfield. Yn finished fourth in District Three, Sept. 29, and seventh in Sectional Two, Oct. 6.
