Homicide Suspect from Michigan Arrested in Florissant

A Florissant Police officer’s investigation of a man sleeping behind a 7-11 store resulted in the arrest of a homicide suspect from Walker, Michigan. The suspect is identified as: Jack Jacqmain, White / male, DOB: 01/25/1958 (52.)

Florissant Officer Andrew Gerwitz, a six-year veteran of the department, discovered Jacqmain sleeping behind a 7-11 convenience store, located in the 100 block of Dunn Rd., around 1:24 a.m. Jacqmain was unable to provide any positive identification and gave a name that was later determined to be false, along with other conflicting information when questioned.

Jacqmain was taken by Officer Gerwitz to the Florissant Police Department where Jacqmain was fingerprinted and photographed as part of the identification procedure. Jacqmain’s true identity was revealed after his fingerprints were submitted to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s – Automated Fingerprint Identification System (A.F.I.S.) for verification.

As a result of the fingerprint search through A.F.I.S. it was also discovered Jacqmain was wanted by the Michigan Department of Corrections for a parole violation as well as being a suspect for an Aug. 18 homicide that occurred in Walker, MI. Jacqmain is currently being held at the Florissant Police Department awaiting extradition to Michigan.
