Florissant Fine Arts Council’s Music Under the Stars concerts continue with the following:
Saturday, July 17 – 7:00 p.m. Fanfare featuring vocalist Kittie Moller Fanfare plays a variety of music with a great deal of well…Fanfare! The music they play will take you all over the sound spectrum from Motown, R & B, Pop, Country,standards plus jazz and Big Band.
Saturday, July 24 – 7:00 p.m. Butch Wax & the Hollywoods Butch Wax & the Hollywoods celebrate their 25th anniversary in 2010 with one of the hottest shows around! The 10 piece band from St. Louis features three female singers, horns, and a rhythm section. Butch Wax & the Hollywoods are regular performers at corporate events, fairs, festivals, wineries, and private parties and continue to bring their good times and great oldies dance music to sold-out crowds. Saturday, July 31 – 7:00 p.m. Bob Kuban Brass – It all began in 1966 when Bob Kuban and the In Men blazed their way to the top of the charts with “The Cheater.” More than thirty years later Bob Kuban has been honored in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s “One Hit Wonders.” The band’s repertoire is heavily influenced by the bygone Gaslight Square style of music, and his association with Ike and Tina Turner
Saturday, August 7 – 7:00 p.m. Billy Peek Band –Legendary Rock and Blues guitarist, most noted for seven years of playing with Rod Stewart, returns to our concert series with his band.
Saturday, August 14 – 7:00 p.m. SmashBand SuperHits –From tailgate to tuxedo parties, SmashBand is your premiere party choice. This is SmashBand’s twelfth season of summer concerts. It is always a party with this 10 piece band that plays the hits of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s 80’s and 90’s.
Sunday, August 22 – 7:00 p.m. The St. Louis All Star Revue –The St. Louis All Star Revue is made up of some of St. Louis’ top singers and musicians. The Revue features: Ralph Butler from The Ralph Butler Band, Kittie Moeller from Fanfare, Charlie B from Wild Cool and Swingin’, Charlie B Band, Jim Manley on trumpet from Fantasy and Wild Cool and Swingin’, Steve Leslie from the Steve Leslie Band, Velvet from the Fabulous Motown Revue (four singers), Dawn Weber on trumpet and vocals, Ray Vollmar, Captivation (three vocalists), Nathan Golomski on trumpet and Fanfare – backing up the entire act. Saturday, August 28 – 7:00 p.m. Boeing Employees Concert Band –The Boeing Employees Concert Band consist of 25 woodwind, brass and percussion musicians. The Band’s repertoire includes light classical, show tunes, popular, jazz, blues and marches
