The St. Louis Water Gardening Society will hold its tenth annual Pond-O-Rama garden tour on June 26 and 27. This is the largest pond tour ever with 56 gardens open on the two days. The ponds and gardens are located throughout the St. Louis Metropolitan area including two in North County.
Ponds will be open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and only on the day assigned to each. The sites are divided into Saturday and Sunday tours. Hosts will be prepared to welcome visitors only on the day for which they are assigned. The two Florissant area ponds are open on Sunday only They are:
MUELLER POND at the home of Ginny Mueller at 16 Talismanway is one of two ponds on the property on this year’s metro wide Pond–O-Rama. This one flows from the top gazebo down a waterfall.
• Mueller, 16 Talismanway Drive. This home sits on three-fourth of an acre, surrounded by 52 acres of common ground and wooded areas. The large pond has two streams, a 12 foot X four foot upper pond, multiple waterfalls and a 13 foot X 9 foot lower pond. The garden includes original, hand-blown glass art pieces.
Barclay and Kelly Compton’s pond at 3295 Charbonier Road. The site includes a pondless waterfall and a water feature that drops down 40 feet into a large lower pond overlooking the Missouri River.

There are 30 pond gardens on the Saturday tour and 25 on Sunday. A booklet guide will be provided detailing the sites as well as a map indicating locations.

Also included with tickets to Pone-O-Rama is a trial membership in the St. Louis Water Gardening Society. The society was established in 1990 as a non-profit organization to provide a way for local water gardeners and koi keepers to regularly exchange information.
