55 Hazelwood District Students Selected As 2010 Gateway West Young Achievers

Fifty-five Hazelwood School District students from 11 schools are this year’s Gateway West Young Achievers.

Part of Young Achievers International, this local chapter features students in fifth through 10th grades who are positive role models, successful achievers in a variety of academic areas, good citizens in their schools and community and competent scholars with good attendance records. Students may be nominated for the program by their school counselors, teachers, administrators or parents.

Gateway Young Achiever students received certificates of achievement and 30 of them also received medallions and $25 for outstanding accomplishments. One of those medallion winners is Sarah Jackson, a seventh grader at Hazelwood Central Middle School.

To participate, students need parental consent, a complete résumé of achievements and photographs for a display highlighting their accomplishments. The Hazelwood School District 2010 Gateway West Young Achievers are:
