MSHSAA Championships: McCluer North Hosts Dist. Wrestling; Hazelwood East Hosts Basketball

McCluer North is one of 16 high schools throughout Missouri (four per class, four classes) that will host District Wrestling Feb. 9-10.
According to the Missouri State High School Activities Association, District Wrestling meets should start no later than 6 p.m. on Feb. 9 and 10 a.m. on Feb. 10. If none of the 14 weight classes have more than nine wrestlers than the District meet will be conducted on Feb. 10. Wrestlers competing must compete in no more than 50 matches or fewer than five, although there are exceptions not listed here for fewer than five.
The top four finishers in each weight class will advance to the 77th MSHSAA State Wrestling Championships, Feb. 15-17 at Mizzou Arena, University of Missouri-Columbia.
McCluer North is the site for Class Four, District Two, a 14-team meet, with Chaminade, CBC, DeSmet, Francis Howell Central, Francis Howell North, Hazelwood Central,
Hazelwood East, Hazelwood West, McCluer, Pattonville, Ritenour, Riverview Gardens and St. Louis University High competing against the host Stars. Meanwhile McCluer South-Berkeley and Trinity Catholic will travel more than halfway through the middle of Missouri to compete against 11 other schools at Marshall High in Class Two, District Two.

BASKETBALL — Districts begin Feb. 17 or 19 for Class Four and Class Five teams while the lowest three classes begin district play Feb. 24 or 26.
Hazelwood East hosts Class Five, District Five with Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood West, McCluer North, McCluer and Riverview Gardens in the field. McCluer South-Berkeley hosts Class Four, District Five with Jennings, Miller Career Academy, Rosati-Kain (girls only), Soldan and University City competing.
Defending Class Five Girls State Champion Incarnate Word Academy joins DeSmet (boys only), Ritenour, Pattonville, Parkway Central and Francis Howell North at Parkway North for Class Five, District Seven. Lutheran North, North County Tech (boys only) and Trinity Catholic will be in Class Three, District Five at Whitfield –along with Cardinal Ritter (Defending Class Three Boys State Champions), Lutheran-St. Charles County and Orchard Farm.
