Bulger Move Means it Must be Bradford Time

BY RANDY GARDNER

It finally happened, after years of speculation, the Rams finally cut Quarterback or should I say ex-Rams Quarterback, Marc Bulger. This pretty much solidifies the Rams drafting Quarterback Sam Bradford. This puts a lot of pressure on them to get him. This will hopefully open some doors for the Rams fans to see that they at least trying to make an effort to get better.

I, along with a lot of other people think that this will be the best move in the long run. The Rams have a lot of picks in the draft this year, if they use them wisely, the Rams could get some decent picks.

The team needs receivers, so when they get that new quarterback, they still meed someone who can run a route. It will be a learning curve with new players but I think that the fans will cut everyone some slack if they come out and give a good effort.

Football season will be here before we know it. All of the preseason workouts will also tell us a bit about this team. Players sometimes play harder when they know they have that multi million salary over their head. The key word there is sometimes. Because sometimes they feel they have it made now and go the other way, should I throw a few names out there for you? I think you know who I am talking about.

Hope the Opener is a Sign of the Season

What an opening day for the St. Louis Cardinals as Albert Pujols showed up big time as he hit two  home runs in the cozy Cincinnati ballpark, along with Yada Molina hitting a grand slam. The only bad thing was that a lot of people missed the game as it was played during the daytime and most people are working.

I would bet there were a lot of TV’s on in offices and a lot of people taking long lunch breaks. I think that this Monday’s home opener should be a Missouri Holiday. I bet most people would agree with me on that.

I know it is really early, I mean really early but the team looks really good. Pitching, which is a key ingredient in the success of any team is on solid ground this year. I mentioned it in my last column but there is nothing like watching Cards baseball on an evening under the stars.

I have been hearing a lot of promotions on the radio about getting tickets for the games, but I am really surprised as in years past the tickets were very scarce most of the entire year. Get them while you can because as the team continues to win the tickets will be harder to get.
