Florissant’s Street Repairs To Begin Soon, Says Mayor

Mayor Robert G. Lowery has announced that Florissant will be making repairs to 153 throughout the city this year. The Mayor and Public Works Director Louis B. Jearls, discussed the situation earlier this month.

The extent of the damage to the street will determine what kind of repairs is made to it, they said. Some streets will be concrete pavement replacement, asphalt overlay, and seal resurfaced. The proposal of these repairs has come as a result of several complaints the mayor has received about the streets needing repair.

“We had a very rainy season and a harsh winter that caused these problems. It is not good to make these repairs until the weather cooperates and we can complete the schedule of repairing the other streets,” said Mayor Lowery. If any resident has any question s or concerns, they should feel free to call  Street Superintendent  Gary Meyer, Street Superintendent at (314)-839-7653.

Lowery said this will be a $1.4 million project. The mayor wants the work to begin soon because  he realizes Florissant residents are anxious to see these repairs made. He asks residents to be patient and that this project will be accomplished as soon as possible. “We are looking for innovative procedures in the future,” said the Mayor.
