Hazelwood’s Spring Brush Chipping Program Begins Week of March 15

The City of Hazelwood’s annual spring brush chipping program is scheduled to begin the week of March 15.  Street maintenance crews will be collecting tree limbs and shrubbery trimmings throughout the community.

Residents are asked to stack their trimmings at the curb by 7 a.m. on the Monday morning of their designated pick-up week.  City crews will collect brush on each street one time only.  So its important for local homeowners to know which collection week is assigned to their street.  A list showing the city-wide schedule can found on Hazelwood’s website at www.hazelwoodmo.org in the “What’s New” section or in the Hazelwood Parks and Recreation’s Winter/Spring 2010 Activity Guide.

Here are some other guidelines to keep in mind:

  • Tree branches should not be cut into short pieces
  • Please do not put any wire, metal, trash, garden waste or other debris in the brush to be chipped
  • No stumps or limbs larger than 6” in diameter will be taken by the City
  • Trimmings done by a contractor should be hauled away by the contractor and not left at the curb for City crews to pick up.

Those with questions regarding the collection schedule can contact the Street Maintenance Division at (314) 731-8701, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
