Grand Reopening of Renovated North County Recreation Complex is Feb. 20
County park rangers were the first to test out the new court last week before the reopening on Feb. 20
The grand reopening of St. Louis County Park’s newly renovated Recreation Complex. is scheduled for Saturday Feb. 20, 1-3 p.m. The event will include tours of the new construction, a ribbon-cutting dedication and a sampling of recreational programming that the complex will offer.
Over the last year the complex has undergone a $1.8 million reconstruction process that has included the development of several new components that will enhance the level of recreational and leisure activities in the North County area.
The complex now includes a new 20,000 sq. ft. multipurpose gymnasium that can be used for many activities including full and half court basketball, 3 volleyball courts and an approx. 150 meter 2-lane track for running and walking enthusiasts. The ice rink was removed for the renovations.
Included in the renovations are a new meeting/community room, administrative offices, public restroom facilities and a more expansive lobby.
The new gym which has multi-purpose uses can be rented for sports events, receptions, graduations, weddings, etc. More options include two community rooms, multi-purpose room and full or partial gym space.
