CITY OF FLORISSANT TO HOST RECYCLING

EVENT WITH MIDWEST RECYCLING CENTER

Mayor Tim Lowery has announced that the City of Florissant has joined up with MRCRecycling again to host an electronics recycling collection event on Saturday, April 11, from 9 a.m.. to 1 p.m. or until the trucks reach their capacity.

Funded by a grant from Saint Louis County Department of Public Health utilizing County landfill surcharge funds. The event will be held in St. Ferdinand Park, rain or shine. The address for the park is 25 St. Ferdinan Park Drive, Florissant, MO, 63031. Signs will be posted throughout the park directing people where to go. This event is open to the public.

Acceptable Items: Stoves, Microwaves, ovens, Medical/lab equipment, scanners and fax machines, cell phones and tablets, Lawn and garden tools (oil/gas removed), kitchen appliances, hard drives and solid state hard drives, LCD monitors, VCR, DVD, and Blu-Ray players, washers and dryers, keyboards and mice, computers and laptops, DVR, Cable, and Satellite boxes, servers, switches, and networking.

Some items are considered “Negative Value Items.” Those items have a limit of 2 items per customer that will be covered by grant funding. Any additional negative value items brought will need to be paid for. Payment can be made either by cash or check.

The list of negative value items and their costs are as follows:

–   CRT TVs 26” and smaller – $30 ea.

-LED/LCD/Plasma TVs – $20 ea.

-CRT TVs 27” and larger – $50 ea.

-Freon Containing Items – $10 ea.

-Console/Rear Projection TVs – $50 ea.

-CRT Monitors – $5 ea.

-Printers/Copiers/MFP’s – $5.00 ea.
