SDS St. Louis County Educators Nominated

for National LifeChanger of the Year Award

Ackerman School special education teacher Lisa Lockhart and behavior analyst Kristen Chuvala have been nominated for National Life Group’s 2025-26 LifeChanger of the Year award.

National Life Group’s LifeChanger of the Year recognizes and rewards the very best K-12 educators and school district employees across the United States who are making a difference in the lives of students by exemplifying excellence, positive influence, and leadership.

Lockhart was nominated by the parent of a student, Craig Cage, for her dedication to students and strong commitment to family communication. Known for her support and guidance, Lockhart has made a positive impact on students’ early learning experiences.

“Lisa Lockhart has been a great teacher in my son’s first years at Ackerman. I appreciate that the communication has been amazing,” said Cage. “Her commitment to both students and families ensures a supportive, engaging, and successful classroom environment.”

Chuvala was nominated by a colleague, Tracy Banks, for her persistence, commitment, and caring nature. Known for advocating for every student, she ensures that each child feels seen, heard, and supported.

Despite facing personal health challenges, Chuvala consistently shows up with a calm demeanor and a smile, inspiring students and colleagues alike. She creates a welcoming environment, is always open for conversation, and listens with care, making a lasting impact on everyone she encounters.
