Another Tony Award winner for Best Play in 2010, it is an introspective look at abstract expressionist painter (and Latvian-born Jewish immigrant) Mark Rothko at the height of his fame. As he takes on his largest commission to date, he also takes on a new assistant who challenges his work and ideals.

Circus Circuli – July 26 – August City Museum & TBD www.circusharmony.org      Twenty four flying children from the sister cities of St. Louis and Stuttgart will be soaring together this summer in St. Louis!  The show will include juggling, contortion, hula hooping, partner acrobatics and more.

9th Annual Tennessee Williams Festival – August 8-18

This year’s TWStL will give center stage to Tennessee Williams’ Cat on a Hot Tin Roof directed by award-winning Michael Wilson at The Grandel Theatre in Grand Center August 8-18. “Life Upon the Wicked Stage / Celebrating Grand Center Theatre District – Then and Now” will be the focus for three one-act plays with music directed by former St. Louisan Brian Hohlfeld place upstairs at The Curtain Call Lounge just steps from the bustling streets and locations where much of the action takes place. The festival will also feature panels, walking tour, late night open mic, a tribute reading, pool party and more!

Musical Ancestries Vietnam – online

Classic 107.3, “The Voice for the Arts in St. Louis,” has a new episode in its series for school-aged children called “Musical Ancestries™.” The new episode explores the splendor of Vietnamese culture through its music, dance, history, and rich cultural traditions. Musical Ancestries is designed to create a pathway to understanding and appreciation as children explore the great diversity of our community.

In addition to the three radio broadcasts, teachers, students, and families can delve deeper and engage through the educational resources on Classic 107.3’s website. A user-friendly Prezi program incorporates visual images, maps, audio and video clips, and hands-on activities. Students can follow along with the broadcasts as they use the online materials or access the “Musical Ancestries™” information anytime online.

Join Stitchers Youth Council (FREE) for access to The Center!

Stitchers Youth Council has performed over 400 times since 2014 throughout St. Louis in cultural venues, parks and at block parties.

Members are 16-25 years old social justice artists who work with adult mentors to generate high quality art that is aimed at moving the region to a healthier and happier future for all.
