Old Town presents 61st Walk through history plaque

OLD TOWN’S WALK-THROUGH HISTORY PROGRAM

UNVEILS 61ST PLAQUE HONORING DR. JOE A. QUICK

A large crowd of family and friends gathered in front of the VFW Post 4105 on a beautiful evening on Wednesday, May 29 to honor Dr. Joe A. Quick. The family told heartwarming storie

s about Joe and his life. Joe was very committed to the City of Florissant community   and residents are proud to honor him in our Plaque Dedication Program.

Mayor Timothy Lowery spoke on the City’s behalf. Other speakers included Old Town Partners president, Jessica Berchtold and Joe’s Step-Daughter Lisa Klein.

Not only did Joe do a lot for this community, but the city also recognized him back in 2014 as Veteran of the Year, hence the location of the Plaque being right in front of Joe’s old stomping grounds.

The plaque read as follows:

“Dr. Quick was an accomplished athlete and talented musician. Served his country in the US military during the Korean War. Served as a police officer and a member of the SWAT Team in

Michigan before moving to Florissant to serve his community as a respected chiropractor in Old Town. Active member in VFW Post 4105 and many other veteran organizations.

WalkEnjoyed reading, writing and art. Loved big band music, military movies, and St. Louis Cardinal

baseball.”
