Memorial Dedication Service Held for Jennifer Darabcsek at Central Elementary

Jennifer Darabcsek’s son Alex (A.J.) sits on the memorial bench for his mother placed at Central Elementary School where she was a teacher.

A memorial dedication service was held for Jennifer Ann Darabcsek on Oct. 22 at Central Elementary School, in the Ferguson-Florissant School District. Jennifer was a teacher at Central Elementary and a Florissant resident. She died on May 12, 2009.

Jennifer is survived by her parents, Ken and Joanne Darabcsek and her 10-year-old son, Alex (A.J.) Cutter, Jr. Alex attends St. Charles Borromeo School and previously Sacred Heart School in Florissant.

Jennifer attended Rosary High School and the University of Illinois at Carbondale.

The Central Elementary memorial

ceremony included dedication of a memorial tree and bench in her name. During the memorial the Pledge of Allegiance was given by the Boy Scouts, presentation of Flag and Memorial by Alex Motley, a presentation of peoms by Jennifer Redd, and “I Remember You” performed by the Central School Choir, directed by Pam Meyers.

“The family is extremely pleased with all the work that went into this memorial for Jennifer,” said Hank Darabcsek, Jennifer’s uncle. “We would especially like to thank all the teachers and staff and Central Principal Ron Stedman for all they did. It was a wonderful tribute to Jennifer.”
