NCCS takes 2nd in MCSAAC Girls Volleyball, Boys Soccer

North County Christian School took their high school Girls Volleyball and Boys Soccer teams to Joplin last weekend for the Missouri Christian Schools Athletic Association Championships and both teams ended up finishing in second place.

Girls Volleyball enjoyed a 33-4-1 season, was 8-0 in the Twin Rivers Christian Activities Association and won 69 out of 78 games played. NCCS defeated Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis and Tower Grove Christian to win the TRCAA Tournament. In the MCSAA State Tournament NCCS defeated Christian Fellowship (Columbia, Mo.) twice, Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis, Tri-City Christian (Independence), St. Louis Christian and Northland before losing to New Salem Marble in the MCSAA State Championship match.

Boys Soccer had a 13-7-1 season and was 5-2-1 in the TRCAA. NCCS was 2-2 versus MCSAA State Champion Faith Community Christian High (Fenton) whom the Crusaders defeated in the TRCAA Tournament Championship game. NCCS defeated Tower Grove Christian in the TRCAA semifinals, Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis in the MCSAA Quarterfinals and Christian Fellowship in the MCSAA Semifinals.

MSHSAA BOYS SWIMMING & DIVING — There are no district tournaments so Florissant Valley area high schools — Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, Hazelwood West, McCluer North and McCluer — have until Nov. 5, the final day of the three day Suburban North Conference Swimming & Diving Meet at the Bridgeton Community Center, which begins Nov. 3, to qualify for the state championships, Nov. 13-14 at the St. Peters’ Rec-Plex. As of Oct. 21 only Hazelwood West senior divers Adam Breuer and Donnie Martin have qualified to compete in the state championships on Nov. 14, according to directathletes.com
