District Soccer Set At Florissant C.C. Park, Trinity, Fort Zumwalt East

High School Boys Soccer District Tournaments will take place Oct. 31-Nov. 7 and area high schools will compete at Florissant Civic Center Park, Trinity Catholic High School and Fort Zumwalt East High School, St. Peters.
McCluer North, who was fourth in Class Three Boys State last year, will serve as the host school in Class Three, District Eight at Civic Center Park, across Waterford Drive from McCluer North and the Ferguson-Florissant School District Administration Building. Only four teams will be involved as North, McCluer, Hazelwood Central and Ritenour will be competing.
Trinity Catholic, Class One Boys State Runner Up last year, will host the eight-team Class One, District Two tournament. Joining Trinity will be North County Tech, Lutheran North, Maplewood-Richmond Heights, Crossroads College Prep, Carnahan, Cleveland NJROTC and Metro.
Hazelwood West will be competing in Class Three, District Six that will be competing at Fort Zumwalt East. Joining West and Zumwalt East will be Pattonville, Francis Howell North, Fort Zumwalt North and Fort Zumwalt South.
Class Three District winners will advance to the sectional round, Nov. 10 while the Class One, District Two winner advances to the quarterfinal round, Nov. 12. The sectional and quarterfinal rounds will be played at the Anheuser-Busch Center, Fenton.
GIRLS TENNIS — A McCluer North singles player and a doubles team from Hazelwood West will be competing this Friday in the State individual championships at Cooper Tennis Center, Springfield, Mo. Friday’s survivors will play Saturday for medals and state titles.
Erin Ward, McCluer North, will be competing in Class Two girls singles after being a District Three finalist, losing to Lauren Davis, Parkway Central. Kim Hawn and Ashleyh Janish, Hazelwood West qualified for Class Two Doubles after being a District Three finalist, losing to Melissa Shultz and Malvika Sampath, Parkway Central.
