Local Vets Seek Funds for New Vietnam War American Veterans Museum in St. Louis

Thousands of Vietnam War veterans still suffer today

as the result of that conflict yet they are still largely ignored.

For several years in America’s history young soldiers fought and many sacrificed their lives in the Vietnam war. Many came away with internal as well as external injuries. Unlike the veterans from other wars: these veterans were often

disrespected, neglected and treated poorly.  A small group of Vietnam veterans have taken the mission of opening Vietnam War American Veterans Museum is to honor these veterans and help educate students and the public about the war and those who served.

Mike Kalinowski, one of organizers of the effort, said their “ vision is to tell the history of America’s involvement in that war by offering these war veterans a unique place to post their own personal story “ on the group’s website. “The site is intended to evolve to a higher- level history tool and align with an eventual bricks and mortar museum in St. Louis,” Kalinowski would like it to become an eventual rival to the WW1 Museum in Kansas City and the WW11 Museum in New Orleans.

“The time has come to provide remedies for the injustice to our veterans and the public’s help is requested,” he said To learn more about the creation of the Vietnam War American Veterans Museum and how to donate visit: www.usvietnamvet.org.
