Add Christmas Spirit During Pandemic
The Wonderlights drive-thru lights display is a two mile long slow crawl in your vehicles, around the newly named World Wide Technology Raceway (formerly Gateway International) in Madison, IL. The massive production features over one million LED lights synchronized to 50 minutes of holiday music, with Christmas favorites you can tune in on your car radio.
Emily Fleenor of WonderLight Production said: “Instead of having animated displays, like a snowman waving an arm or tipping his hat, we have more than one million lights, each moving in sync with crowd-favorite Christmas music. The show features floating snowflakes, shooting stars, giant dancing trees, and five immersive tunnels of lights.”
The show will be open nightly, including Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Tickets are $7 per person. A carload pass is also available for $30 (up to seven passengers). For a contactless admission process, guests may purchase tickets online at: https://www.wonderlightschristmas.com/tickets. Hours of operation each day are from dusk (approximately 5 p.m.) until 10 p.m. Open rain or shine.
Lot of Lights, at The Family Arena in St. Charles, (below photo) is another new drive- tru holiday lights display promising snow every night on its parking lot now through Jan. 2. This holiday drive-through show features lasers, holograms, projection mapping, and yes, a lot of lights..
As visitors enter the massive tunnel of lights, they will enjoy over a mile of unique and exciting holiday displays at The Family Arena (2002 Arena Parkway). From there, they’ll be dazzled by an array of classic holiday scenes including a Flying Reindeer School, a Victorian Christmas, Candyland, a Winter Wonderland, and more. Drivers will be able to tune their car stereos to a dedicated FM station that will air a curated holiday music playlist. All this culmunates to a holiday laser and light show that has never been seen before in the St. Louis area.
Hours are 5:30 – 10 p.m., Monday-Thursday, and 5:30 – 11 p.m., Friday – Sunday and holidays. Tickets are $25 per car ($40 for limos and party buses).
