New Upcoming Florissant Traffic Closures

MoDOT’s North Project will close Dunn Rd.
at Old Halls Ferry Rd. and I-270 exit ramp

Motorists should be aware that MoDOT will close Dunn Rd. near Old Halls Ferry Rd. and the westbound I-270 exit ramp at Old Halls Ferry Rd. beginning Monday, Aug. 3 at 9 a.m. Both will be closed for one month. Motorists are encouraged to use I-270 at New Halls Ferry Rd. to Netherton Dr. as the detour route. All detours will be marked.
The closures allow for improvement of the intersection at Dunn Rd. and Old Halls Ferry Rd. and construction of an additional lane both eastbound and westbound on I-270. The intersection improvements, Old Halls Ferry Rd. Bridge construction and the added highway lanes are part of the ongoing $278 million I-270 North Project.
The I-270 North Project runs from James S. McDonnell Blvd. to Bellefontaine Rd. It will update and replace aging pavement and bridges, better link communities, improve accessibility for both bicyclists and pedestrians, and enhance traffic operations and safety throughout the corridor.
Drivers are encouraged to visit the project website at http://www.i270north.org to learn more about planned detours and about the specifics of the project, including a project overview and graphic displays of planned construction. In addition, website visitors can leave comments or signup for on-going updates. The public can also contact MoDOT’s customer service center at 1-314-275-1500 or contact the I-270 North Project Team at: I270North@modot.mo.gov.

MoDOT’s I-270 North Project to close Section
Of Pershall Rd. For Bridge Replacement

Drivers who regularly use Pershall Rd. between Route 67 (Lindbergh Blvd.) and North Hanley Rd. should be aware of an upcoming closure starting Monday, Aug. 4 at 9 a.m. The closure, between Ford Ln. and Polson Ln., will remain in place for 18 months. Motorists are encouraged to use I-270 between Lindbergh and Hanley/Graham as detour routes for both eastbound and westbound travel. All detours will be marked.
This closure allows for removal of soil and the replacement of the Pershall Road Bridge over Coldwater Creek. The bridge replacement is part of the ongoing $278 million I-270 North Project.
“We are working closely with MoDOT’s I-270 North Project team to remove soils with low levels of radioactive contamination
before they begin rebuilding the new bridges over Coldwater Creek. Closely coordinating our schedules allows access to contamination previously considered inaccessible and limits the necessary closures during this part of the overall I-270 North project to reduce the impact on area travelers.” said Robin Parks, lead engineer for the United States Army Corps of Engineers St. Louis FUSRAP project.
Drivers should visit the I-270 North Project website at www.i270north.org to learn more about planned detours and details of the project, including a project overview and graphic displays of planned construction. Travelers can also contact MoDOT’s customer service center at 1-314-275-1500 or contact the I-270 North Project Team at: I270North@modot.mo.gov.
