Valley of Flowers Parade

The Valley of Flowers Committee has announced that the date for the 58th Annual Valley of Flowers Parade will be Sunday, Aug. 2. This year’s parade theme remains “Celebrating the Saint Louis Zoo.”

The parade will begin at 1:45 p.m. leaving from the James J. Eagan Center. The Committee is looking for sponsors and vendors for the Festival, and parade participants to walk, perform, or drive in

the parade. This year, dance groups will only perform on a flatbed or float. They will not walk in the parade.

All marching bands and walking units will assemble at Atonement Lutheran Church 1285 New Florissant Road. Walkers are limited to 25 walkers per unit (excluding bands).

Floats can be no taller than 12 fee. Only the first two car clubs (only six cars per club) with approved applications are allowed. All vehicles in the parade must submit proof of insurance to the office

with the parade application. All units must continually move forward to maintain a close gap with the unit before them.

For safety reasons, no one may throw anything from parade vehicles to parade spectators.. A group member walking next to your unit may distribute allowed items (e.g. candy or beads).

At least one person from each unit must attend one of the safety meetings at the James J. Eagan Center either on Tuesday, July 21, at 6:30 p.m. or on Thursday , July 23, at 11 a.m.

The festival will prohibit units that do not attend at least one meeting from parade participation.

There must be one application for each unit entered. The Valley Of Flowers Committee has final approval of all parade applications. Applications must be in the Festival office by July 10.
