Mayors For Meals May 9 at Bangert Park

Mayor Lowery announced that the City of Florissant will be participating in a County-wide food collection event called Mayors For Meals on Saturday, May 9. The Mayors For Meals food collection event will be held at Bangert Park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is being sponsored by the St. Louis Area Foodbank.

The St. Louis Area Foodbank is the region’s largest nonprofit food distributor. They partner with more than 500 organizations and pantries to feed almost 400,000 people in their 26-county service territory, including St. Louis County. With recent strains from COVID-19, the Foodbank has seen an increase in need by up to 30%. Food collected from this drive will help alleviate food insecurity by providing local pantries which includes TEAM that is based in our community with a variety of food to meet their community’s needs. All shelf-stable food and personal care items welcome!
