Todd Takes Lampert’s Seat on Hazelwood Council

The Hazelwood City Council has a new member to represent Ward 5. Russell Todd, he has lived in Hazelwood since 1999, and he served on the city’s Board of Adjustment for 8 years.

At the Aug. 30 meeting the city council unanimously approved his appointment to replace 10 year veteran Peg Lampert who resigned Aug. 6 and plans to move to St. Peters to be near her family.

Todd will serve as councilman until the April, 2009 election; at that time the seat will be open to anyone or all candidates who file for the seat.

Todd is employed as a Fire marshal, Building Officer and Plans Examiner for the City of Maplewood. His duties include: plan preview of all new commercial and residential plans; perform annual fire inspections along with other inspection and administration duties.

He resides on Sunset Drive with his wife Vickie and four children Addison, Isaac, Amaris and Abigail. He will be officially sworn in as a council member in September.

When asked how he feels about being a part of city government, Todd said, “I feel I could make a positive contribution for the City of Hazelwood.”
