Both Civic Centers closed; Reevaluate after March 31

After meeting with Cheryl Thompson-Stimage, the Director of Parks & Recreation, Mayor Lowery has decided to temporarily close the James J. Eagan and JFK Community Centers effective immediately due to the on-going COVID-19 situation. This will be in effect until through March 31st and will be re-evaluated to keep the community centers closed or to re-open. This situation is fluid and may change frequently, so please check back for further updates. With the temporary closing of the two community centers all classes, rentals and upcoming Easter events are cancelled which include:

The Spring Break Camp 3/23-3/27

The Underwater Egg Hunt 4/3

Easter Hoppenings (egg hunt) 4/4

The Egg Decorating 4/8.

Also included are all exercise and aquatic classes including the Stroke Clinic, have been canceled. Mayor Lowery stresses that the closing of the community centers is just a precautionary and proactive measure to insure the health, safety and well-being of our residents and employees.
