13th Annual Mayors’ Shamrock Ball Was

Record Breaker For Valley Industries

FLORISSANT MAYOR TIM LOWERY spoke at the 13th Annual Mayors’ Shamrock Ball on March 7. It was his first year as mayor attending the ball. There were two other mayors attending their first Shamrock Ball: Mayor Thomas L. Pierson Sr. of Bellefontaine Neighbors and Mayor Reggie Jones of Dellwood. Returning mayors were Norman McCourt of Black Jack, James Knowles of Ferguson and Matt Robinson of Hazelwood. Jim Guyre, executive director of Valley Industries, was elated by the turnout and support the North County community gave on Saturday, March 7 for the 13th Annual Mayors’ Shamrock Charity Ball benefitting Valley Industries. He thanked the Garden Villas North Retirement Community at 4505 Parker Road in Black Jack and the Delmar Gardens Family CEO Gabe Grossberg for their generous support once again providing the facility for the Shamrock Ball. Guyre said, “Gabe has provided overflowing support of Valley Industries and our entire community and never misses our event.”

“This was our largest record-breaking event yet, with increases in host cities and mayors, sponsorship packages, individual ticket sales, super raffle sales, and event setup and cleanup volunteers!” Guyre said.

The two major event sponsors, Delmar Gardens Family with Garden Villas North, and the Rotary Club of Florissant helped to put on the grand community event. Emerald Sponsors were Florissant’s Karen McKay, Christian Hospital, the City of Hazelwood, and NorthPoint Development. There were 23 Pot of Gold sponsors , a total of 79 sponsors and 450+ tickets sold. Master of Ceremonies John Londoff Jr. shared personal stories of growing up with his special sister Jackie, who was an employee of Valley Industries for many years. The king and mayors’ attire and sashes were provided by Denise at Your Wedding Wishlist.

CHARITY BALL WILL BE BACK AT DELMAR GARDENS IN 2021

Food choices were provided by the nine restaurant sponsors, which included delicious shrimp, beef brisket, smoked turkey, Shepherd’s pie, salads, pastas, pizza, and many other exquisite food items including several wonderful desserts. The new Everyday People Band had the dance floor filled, and the mixed drinks provided by Southern Glazers, beer by Anheuser-Busch InBev, the Firefighters Champage, and soft drinks by the Frank Family were flowing all evening long.
