Shandi Finnessey is a contestant on ABC’s ‘Dancing With the Stars’

Florissant native Shandi Finnessey, former Miss USA, will be a competitor on ABC-TV’s “Dancing with the Stars” which will air live on Mondays and Tuesdays beginning March 19 for ten weeks.

Finnessey is Miss Missouri 2002, Miss Missouri USA 2004, Miss USA 2004, Miss America 2003, Miss USA 2004, and first runner-up in Miss Universe 2004.

Her parents are Patrick and Linda Finnessey of Florissant. She graduated from Incarnate Word in 1996 and received a bachelor of science degree in psychology from Lindenwood University in 1999. Most recently she has appeared as a game-show hostess, an appearance on Donald Trump’s “The Apprentice” and on the E-channel.
Finnessey will be a competitor on “Dancing with the Stars” with the following celebrities: Laila Ali, undefeated world champion female boxer and youngest daughter of sports icon Muhammad Ali; Billy Ray Cyrus, singer-songwriter-actor; Clyde Drexler, a member of the 1992 U.S. Olympic Basketball Dream Team; and Joey Fatone, musician-actor-star and a member boy band NSYNC.

Other celebrities will include: Estee Lauder model Paulina Porizkova; Leeza Gibbons, host of radio’s Hollywood Confidential; Apolo Anton Ohno, two-time Olympic gold medal winner; Vincent Pastore, stared in Goodfellas and Revolver and The Sopranos; separated wife of Beatles ‘ Paul McCartney, (the first contestant to compete with an artificial limb), Heather Mills; and Ian Ziering, a former Beverly Hills 90210 resident.

“Your votes will keep on the show,” her proud dad Patrick Finnessey told The Independent News noting that the public can vote multiple times by phone and e-mail.
