Trinity Hosts Class 3, District 5 Softball

   Trinity Catholic High School is one of 64 statewide to host High School Fall Softball districts that begin Oct. 16 and end Oct. 18 or 19 Teams that are top seeds usually get a first-round bye and will begin Oct. 17.

   Trinity will host three district games including the Oct 18 final, 4 p.m. each day. Trinity Softball/Baseball field is located behind Christ, Light of the Nations School (Formerly Our Lady of Loretto) just east of Trinity on Redman Road. Fifth-seed Trinity plays fourth-seed Riverview Gardens Oct. 16. The winner takes on top-seeded McCluer Oct. 17. The other Oct. 17 game, between second-seeded Jennings and third-seeded Hazelwood East is at Lutheran North, which is collaborating with Trinity Catholic. The Class Three, District Five winner hosts the District Six winner in the Oct. 23 Sectional.

    CLASS FOUR, DISTRICT FIVE — Parkway Central is hosting Oct. 16-18 or 19 and the pairings are n not available at press time. Seedings and pairings meeting should be complete by Saturday, Oct. 12. Parkway Central and one or two of the higher-seeds are to host games with Parkway Central to likely host the District Final. Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood West and McCluer North joins Pattonville and Ritenour for this tournament, with the winner hosting the District Six winner in the Oct. 23 Sectional.

  CLASS THREE, DISTRICT FOUR — Westminster Christian Academy will be hosting the tournament with games to b played there and one or two higher seeded teams Oct. 16-17 or 19. Incarnate Word Academy joins Normandy Collaborative, Clayton, Parkway North and University City at Westminster. The District champion plays in the Oct. 23 sectional at the winner of Class Three, District Three.

STATE – Quarterfinals are Oct. 26 at sites to be determined after sectionals. Semifinals, third-place and championships are Nov. 1-2 at Killian Sports Complex, Springfield.

   CROSS COUNTRY — Class Four Districts will take place Oct. 26, Districts in Classes One-Three are on Nov. 2, the same day as Class Four Sectionals, and the State Championships are Nov. 9 at Gans Creek Recreation Area, across Gans Road from Fr. Tolton Regional Catholic High School in Columbia.

   CLASS FOUR — Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, Hazelwood West, McCluer North and McCluer are in District Two at St. Vincent Park, off St. Charles Rock Road, west of Normandy Collaborative, east of Pennsylvania Avenue and south of the University of Missouri St. Louis South Campus. Ladue Horton Watkins is the meet host.

   The top four teams and top 30 runners from other teams will advance to Sectional One at Parkway Central, Competing against District

    SPANISH LAKE PARK will host a pair of Nov. 2 Districts. Incarnate Academy is one of 16 schools to compete in Class Three, District Two while meet host Lutheran North is among 13 schools, including STEAM Academy at McCluer South-Berkeley, in Class Two, District Two. The top two teams and top 15 runners from other teams in each district will advance to State Nov. 9 at Gans Creek.

SUBURBAN CONFERENCE — Hazelwood Central, Hazelwood East, McCluer North, McCluer and STEAM Academy at McCluer South Berkeley will compete Oct. 12 at McNair Park, St. Charles.
