Economic Development Director
Mayor Tim Lowery announced that Travis Wilson has been selected as the City of Florissant’s new director of Economic Development effective Aug. 12.
Prior to accepting the position with the City of Florissant Travis was an economic development specialist with the City of St. Charles Travis participated in the development and implementation of the department’s strategic plan. He executed Business Retention & Expansion (BR & E) visits where he completed over 1000 visits annually. He hosted the Large Employers quarterly breakfast meeting with the Mayor and with over 20 major employers. He organized and managed the department’s itinerary for retail industry trade shows in Las Vegas, Chicago and other cities, in order to market his city to possible investors. Travis planned and facilitated the department’s annual event, the Regional Investors Breakfast with over 400 attendees. He worked closely and met with commercial real estate brokers to educate them about opportunities available in his city.
Travis has a bachelor degree from the University of Missouri – St. Louis in Business Administration where he majored in Marketing and holds a residential real estate license. Travis is a member of the National Association and Missouri Association of Realtors. He was awarded the 2019 Business Retention & Expansion Award by the Missouri Economic Development Council.
