North County Incorporated (NCI) honored several area leaders for their contributions and commitment to the North County region at its 42nd Annual Leadership Breakfast. More than 550 business, civic and community leaders attended the sold-out event.

“NCI is pleased to recognize our North County exceptional leaders. It’s so awe-inspiring to know these individuals are motivated to work hard every day, because they believe in North County and all that it offers,” said NCI President and CEO, Rebecca Zoll.

Awards and recipients include:

Business Development Leadership Awards presented to individuals positively affecting economic development of North County. NorthPoint Developmen, SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital Pediatric Specialty Services Center: SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital and the Sansone Group Community Development Leadership.

Awards presented to individuals benefitting youth, residents or civic organizations: Just Moms STLProject Home Partnership: U.S. Dist. Court for Eastern Dist. of MO Office of Probation and Parole, U.S. Bank, Beyond Housing, Prosperity Connection, Coldwell Banker Ritenour Co-Care Food PantryDiversity and Inclusion

Leadership Awards presented to individuals or organization showcasing exemplary dedication to diversity and equity initiatives while promoting a culture of inclusion. Lt. Col. Troy Doyle, St. Louis County Police Department Dan Lester, Clayco Scott Negwer, Negwer Materials, Inc.

Elmer Belsha Leadership Award presented to an individual making a positive impact in the community went to retiring Mayor Thomas Schneider, City of Florissant Excellence in Partnership

Leadership Award presented to individuals or organization partnering with North County Incorporated on initiatives that provide services to those living and or working in North St. Louis County to improve the community. 911 Vision Foundation,

First Responder InitiativePublic Service Leadership Award, presented to individuals, elected, appointed or employed by a public body who is making a positive impact on the community they serve. Retiring Mayor Robert Doerr, of Bellefontaine Neighbors, Police Officer Timothy Benning, City of Hazelwood Police Department UMSL Chancellor Tom George.

Special Recognition Leadership Award presented to individuals who, through business and philanthropy, exemplify leadership and service dedicated to helping others and improving the community. St. Louis County Library and CITI: The Little Bit Foundation ProjectNorth County Inc. launched “True North” a campaign to highlight authentic stories of people, places and progress in the northern part of the St. Louis metro region. The campaign was designed to be a grassroots effort, so community stakeholders can easily participate and promote good things happening in North County by sharing their stories of success.

The award-winning Jennings School District Choir performed True North to kick-off the event. Guests were encouraged to participate in the campaign at #TrueNorth or tag @TrueNorthCounty. A website was also launched www.TrueNorthCounty.org to continue to share the regions authentic stories and guests were the first to see True North County video, now available on You Tube.
