East-West Gateway Council To Honor Mayor Lowery

Mayor Robert Lowery is the recipient of the East-West Gateway Council’s 2006 Outstanding Local Government Achievement Award. He will be honored by the organization at its annual meeting on Friday, Nov. 17, at the Millennium Hotel in Downtown St. Louis.

The award recognizes the mayor’s leadership efforts, commitment to excellence, and his work assisting the citizens of Florissant and the entire St. Louis region, according to Les Sterman, Council executive director.

“I am humbled to be receiving this wonderful recognition from my peers in local government, ” said Lowery. “It is always gratifying to know that your efforts have come to the attention of others, but therecognition and honor belongs to the entire city.”

St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay, chairman of the East-West Gateway Council will held host the awards luncheon, along with mayors, county executives, and elected public officials from throughout the region.
