The beautiful summer weather drew masses of folks to the Florissant Food Truck Knight on Aug. 17.

The Knights of Columbus Duchesne Council #2951 and the City of Florissant co-sponsored a Food Truck Knight on Friday, Aug.17 from 5-9 p.m. on the lot near the Old St. Ferdinand Shrine located at 50 rue St. Francois.

The trucks served until 8 p.m. and 40 miles to Vegas performed for a packed audience until 9 p.m. The truck line up for the evening was: Destination Desserts, Sarah’s Cake Shop, Andrew’s Bayou Ribs, Angie Burger, The Southerner, Steak Louie, My Big Fat Greek Truck, Slice of the Hill, Seoul Taco, 2 Girls 4 Wheels, Kona Ice, Zia’s Food Truck, Mann Meats and Wing Nut. Activities for the kids were supplied by Simple Positive Play and AB products in 16oz aluminum bottles, Zwickl on draft, margaritias, and wine were available for adults.

Proceeds benefited local non-for-profit charities including the TEAM Food Pantry. Patrons were also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for collection barrels that were on site. TEAM’s food pantry provides food and non-food items to needy families in the Florissant/Hazelwood area on a monthly basis. The last scheduled food truck event will be on Oct. 10.
