Time to Believe in Those Cardinals!

Every single day you can not talk to someone who does not have their eye on the Cardinals in some form. I talked last week about how I wasn’t sure about the firing of Mike Matheny. After listening to a ton of interviews with players and their outlook on how they expect to win every night now, maybe my feelings have changed.

Maybe it was a good thing to do as the Cards are playing really great right now and only a few games back from the Central Division leading Chicago Cubs. I really think that this team is going make a division title run and for certain Wild Card run. Like I always say, it doesn’t really matter until the last few weeks of the season and they’re sneaking up on us.

If they don’t make the playoffs, what will the feeling be with the fans. Will they give the “interim” manager a chance next year? A lot of unknown questions to be answered over the next few weeks, I only hope that we see baseball in October in St. Louis.

High School football is upon us. I also write about the excitement that is felt on a Friday night under the lights with a cool Fall breeze upon you. If you have not had a chance to see a game, look up when your local team is playing and head out to the game. It is so much fun to watch the players untarnished by the money of the pros and the scholarships of the college athletes. It is the true sense of the word football and the boys of Fall. It all starts this weekend and will wrap up around Thanksgiving with the State Championship game in Columbia at the University of Missouri..
