The City of Florissant and Old Town Partners held a “Family Fun & Movie Night” after the third Wednesday Night Out on July 25 at 6 p.m. The free event was hosted by Old St. Ferdinand Shrine and Duchesne Knights of Columbus, located at 50 rue St. Francois.

The festivities began with many games for children, including pineapple bowling, the limbo, bag toss, and face-painting done by two of the 2018 Valley of Flowers court members. Food and drinks were available for purchase from the Knights of Columbus and Eddie the police dog made a visit. The Kona Ice food truck was also offering up cold treats on the hot summer night.

Tours of the historic St. Ferdinand Shrine and raffle baskets were other features guests enjoyed. At dusk, the children’s sensation movie Moana was projected onto an inflatable outdoor screen provided by Emerson Family YMCA. Many families brought lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy a great movie night under the stars with family, friends and neighbors.
