Dedicated For Florissant’s Kay Spring
Mayor Schneider dedicated the 34th Walk Through History plaque on July 25 to honor the late Catherine “Kay” Spring before the start of the third Wednesday Night Out, which was Movie Night (Moana) hosted by St. Ferdinand Shrine and the Knights of Columbus.
Kay Spring dedicated her life working for the city of Florissant with a genuine affection for everyone she met and a teacher to those interested in landmark conservation, said the mayor.
Kay played key roles in renovating many treasures including the John B. Meyers House/Barn, Archambault House, the Log Cabin and the Gittemeier House. She served on numerous committees and volunteered for Historic Florissant Inc., Florissant Valley Historical Society and Old St. Ferdinand Shrine.
“Kay set a great example for the community and loved all things Florissant,” said Mayor Schneider.
