Is happiness two kinds of ice cream, learning to whistle, or tying your shoe for the very first time? Well, it is for Charlie Brown and gang when they take the stage at the Florissant Civic Center Theater!

Concluding their 2017-2018 season on a happy note, the Alpha Players of Florissant will present the musical “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown.”   The show tells the story of an “average” day in the life of Charlie Brown. It’s a day made up of little moments – from Valentine’s Day to baseball season, from feeding the dog to flying a kite, and from school book reports to glee club. It’s a sweet reminder of the simpler things in life.

In addition to the performance, the Alpha Players are bringing happiness to some kids by supporting Project Linus. The Alpha Players are furnishing a quilt to be raffled off by Project Linus each weekend of the show. Project Linus is a non-profit organization that provides handmade blankets to children in need. Representatives from Project Linus will be available in the lobby to talk about their work and to sell raffle tickets before the performances. All donations will go to Project Linus to buy fabric and supplies to make more blankets.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on May 18, 19, 25, and 26, and 2:00 p.m. on May 27, at the Florissant Civic Center Theatre, at the intersection of Parker and Waterford in Florissant. Tickets are $18 for adults, $16 for seniors and students, and $10 for children, with group rates available. (A special student rate of $10 is available for the May 26 performance.) More ticket information available at florissantmo.thundertix.com or by calling the box office at 314-921-5678.

The cast of “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” features Joel Garrett Brown, Danny Brown, Bethany Hamilton, Phil Gill, Ann Hier Brown, James Quiggins and Emily May. Ken Clark directs.
