The Florissant City Council held a public hearing on a request to rezone the property at 3125 N. Highway 67 from one commercial district to another to allow the construction of a new tenant building.
Brett Dahlman spoke about the project. He is with Quattro Development, the developer of the project.
“We will be redeveloping the existing gas station site. We are proposing to construct a new tenant building for two tenants, Aspen Dental and Mod Pizza,” Dahlman said.
The plan will use the current entrance from Lindbergh and move the one from New Halls Ferry. There will be parking for 49 cars. The building will be about 6400 square feet. There will be a small outdoor seating area for Mod Pizza.
“Do you build nation-wide for Aspen Dental or Mod Pizza?” asked Councilman Jeff Caputa.
“This is our second Mod Pizza. Aspen Dental is a long-time client of ours,” Dahlman said.
Councilman Tommy Siam asked if Quattro would manage the property. “We are not a long-term property manager. We’ll keep it for a while,” Dahlman said.
No one spoke in opposition to the building.
In other action, the council:
- Passed a bill that will authorize a special use permit to Tire Zone for a tire installation and tire repair shop at 1940 N. Highway 67. Council President first made an amendment that would prevent the business from storing any tires outside. Her amendment passed.
- Passed a bill that will allow the transfer of a special use permit from Toast Time Lounge to Toast Time Sports Bar at 12781 New Halls Ferry Road.
- Passed a bill that will establish a separate pay plan for unclassified employees.
- Held a first reading on a bill that would transfer a special use permit from 5 Aces BBQ to Hwy 67 BBQ for a restaurant at 1752-1754 New Florissant Road.
The council held a moment of silence for Rick Puckett, the owner of Pirrone’s Pizzeria who died earlier this month after a short illness. Rick was big supporter of the men in blue. The Florissant Police Department had provided a motorcycle escort from Hutchens Funeral Home to Sacred Heart Cemetery.
