Only two high schools in the Florissant Valley area, McCluer North and Trinity Catholic, field varsity Boys Golf Teams, although Trinity have Girls on the Boys’ team because Trinity has no Girls’ team.
Both teams have meets prior to the April 30 districts. McCluer North hosts Affton Thursday, April 19, 3:30, at Florissant Golf Course, plays Ritenour at St. Ann on April 24, in the Suburban XII Championships April 25 at Gateway National Golf Course and is in the Webster Groves Tournament April 27 at Sunset Hills. Trinity Catholic competes in the Archdiocesan Athletic Association Championships April 23 at the Franklin County CC, has two meets at Eagle Springs Golf Course including Valley Park April 25 and St. Francis Borgia April 26, and, after districts, play in the Affton Scramble May 2 at Columbia Golf Club.
In districts, April 30, McCluer North is in Class Four, District Two at the Landings at Spirit Golf Club, Chesterfield, hosted by St. Louis University High. Also in districts Trinity is in Class Two, District Five, at bear Creek Golf Club, Wentzville, hosted by Lutheran High St. Charles County
The top two teams plus top 15 golfers from teams finishing third or lower advance to the May 7 Sectionals. That includes playing at Westwood Hills Country Club, Poplar Bluff (Class Four, Sectional One) and Norwoods Golf Club (Class Two, Sectional Three).
From Sectionals the top two teams, and the top 12 Golfers from team finishing third or lower, advance to State May 14-15 at Swope Park Golf Course, Kansas City (Class Four) and Meadow Lake Country Club, New Bloomfield (Class Two).
Teams that finish third or lower in Districts and/or Sectionals but send at least four golfers to Sectionals and/or State will result in teams competing in Sectionals and/or State.
NORTH COUNTY CHRISTIAN School will close out the 2017-18 athletic season as their Spring Sports teams, Girls Soccer and Track-Field, compete in the Missouri Christian State Athletic Association Championships May 2-5 in Joplin
Girls Soccer, before State, visits Eagle Ridge, Thursday, April 19, 5 p.m. then hosts Lift for Life Academy Charter April 23 at 4:30 and O’Fallon Christian April 26 at 5:30. Junior High Track will be at Lutheran North April 24 at 5 p.m. while Junior Varsity Track will be in Wright City April 26. Varsity Track last competed at Wright City April 12.
