Let’s Hope The Weather Cooperates

Can you believe this crazy weather? It is supposed to be Spring right? The Cardinals baseball home opener is here and the weather feels more like Fall or Winter. It’s often like this, either too hot or cold, no in between. I remember years of long Spring weather even recently and then there’s year like this where we will likely skip what we call Spring and jump right to the 90 degree weather.

I love Spring for many reasons which include the start of Cardinals baseball and the pageantry of the home opener at Busch Stadium. The Cardinals actually got it handed to them in New York for their true season opener. But after losing the first two games there , they rebounded a couple of wins. For them, will it feel like an opener after they have already played several games?

I think as a player the home opener as the very first game would be way more exciting than several games into the season, especially after you have won a few and lost a few. But the Cardinals are looking pretty good, especially the pitching. I am not getting any hopes up at all but this looks like it might be a pretty good season! Stay tuned.

Will Blues Still Make the Playoffs?

As far as the Blues, they are keeping us all on the edge of our seats as they continue their up and down bounce between the playofff line in their division. They went on a mad streak where they couldn’t lose and then have been beaten twice in the last few days. The games were close but they let them slip away.

Every point is precious at this time of the year. I think they will still sneak in and actually do pretty good in the playoffs. It seems like they always seem to peak at the right time of the year. With only a few games left, they are going to have to lay it all on the line. With a few injuries to players and the long season of body abuse in such a physical sport they have to really keep their heads on straight right now and finish strong.

Can’t Even Get a Practice Session

I know there are a lot of sad youngsters out there right now as the weather is playing havoc with all sports including baseball. My two teams have not even had a practice yet and they start in just a few days. I guess everyone’s is in the same boat but it is sad that they can’t5 even get to practice.

This is not the only sport suffering, basically any outdoor event on grass and even some turf games are being called because of extreme weather. Like I said, it will go from cold air and moisture to hot air and a drought. That’s what makes everything fun though, the uncertainty of what should be certain. Stop and think about that statement and correlate that to everyday life. Happy Spring.
