Hazelwood’s Spring Brush Collection Begins March 19

hazelwood city logo   Spring is right around the corner. It’s time once again for Hazelwood residents to get ready for the city’s Spring Brush Collection program. The crews will begin collecting tree limbs and shubbery trimmings the week of March 19.

A copy of the street pick-up schedule can be found in the Parks & Recreation Activity Guide, Winter/Spring 2017 issue, on pages 22-24. It’s also posted on the home page of the City’s website at www.hazelwoodmo.org under the heading of Latest News.

Residents should stack their trimmings at the curb by 7 a.m. on the Monday morning of their designated street pick-up week. The cut ends should be facing the street. City crews will collect brush on each street “one time only” so it’s important for residents to remember where their street is listed on the schedule.

Branches should not be cut into short pieces. Please do not put any wire, metal, trash, garden waste or other debris in the brush that is to be chipped. This could cause serious injury to the crew and damage the machinery. No stumps or limbs larger than 6” in diameter will be taken by the city.

Trimmings done by a contractor should be hauled away by the contractor and not left at the curb for city crews.

For questions regarding the Spring Brush Collection Program, contact the Street Maintenance Division at (314) 731-8701, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
