NCCS Mo. Christian Girls Soccer Champs, Again

North County Christian School won their second straight Missouri Christian State Athletic Association Girls Soccer Championship April 30-May 2 in Joplin.

NCCS went undefeated for the second year in a row, going 15-0 this season after a 9-0 season last year and the Lady Saders were 24-0 in two years. NCCS scored 111 goals this year, compared to 55 last year, bringing the total to 166 while allowing only four goals in two seasons including goals this year by Heather Wors, North County Tech, and April Lauchner, Highland, Ill.

NCCS played a round robin state tournament in Joplin last weekend, shutting out Tri-City Christian (Independence) 10-0, Blue Ridge Christian (Kansas City), 10-0, Christian Fellowship (Columbia), 9-0, and Tower Grove Christian (St. Louis), 4-0. Hannah Tucker was named Twin Rivers Christian Activities Association Player of the year and was named to the All-State team along with Caylee Oesch, Emily Stephens and Kaitlyn O’Brock.

The MCSAA BASEBALL tournament, in Joplin, was rained out while only one round of MCSAA BOYS GOLF was played, also in Joplin. Two NCCS Boys Golfers finished in the top 10 — Ben Donaldson finished seventh and Ben Farmer finished ninth.
