Town Hall Meeting April 18 at Prarie Commons Library

Several North County state representatives are hosting a town hall meeting on Saturday, April 18, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the Prairie Commons Library in Hazelwood.

Representatives include Bert Atkins (D-75), Margo McNeil (D-78), Gina Walsh (D-69) and Steve Webb (D-74) and are hosting this town hall meeting for their constituents in Florissant, Hazelwood, Ferguson, Bellefontaine Neighbors, Jennings, and Spanish Lake.

The representatives will have Mary Elizabeth Dorsey, chair of the St. Louis County Board of Equalization as well as Paul Henton and James Victorian both property owner advocates for St. Louis County; they will explain the property tax assessment process and will take questions. Amy Blouin with the Missouri Budget Project will be on hand to discuss healthcare and the state budget.

The floor will be opened for questions regarding state issues.

“There are many critical issues that we hear about from our constituents and property taxes is one of the main issues,” says McNeil, “We want to open the lines of communication with our constituents.

“This town hall meeting is an attempt to provide constituents with important information regarding taxes and health care,” Says Atkins.
