North County Incorporated (NCI) has announced its annual Business Development, Community Development, Elmer Belsha Leadership, Public Service, and Special Recognition Award recipients for 2009. The 2009 award recipients will be honored at NCI’s 32nd Annual Breakfast on Friday, May 15, at 7:30 a.m. at the St. Louis Airport Marriott.

NCI’s Business Development Awards are presented to those whose efforts positively affect the economic development and business climate of the North County area. On May 15, NCI will honor Ronald B. McMullen, president of Christian Hospital, and Dr. Carolyn Pryor-Luster of Serenity Women’s Healthcare, Inc. with Business Development Awards.
NCI’s Community Development Awards are presented to those whose efforts positively benefit youth, residents, civic organizations, or others through selfless acts. Marsha Bonds, Ddrector of North County CARES, the Florissant Parks Foundation, and Ken Smith, president of the Old Jamestown Association, were chosen for this award.
Hazelwood Schools Supt. Chris Wright will receive the prestigious Elmer Belsha Leadership Award, which is presented annually to an individual whose long-term commitment to the North County region and NCI has had a positive impact on the community and/or public body that they serve.
Public Service Awards will be presented to outstanding individuals, elected, appointed, or employed by a public body whose long-time service has had a positive impact on the community and/or public body they serve. Mayor Virginia A. Bira, City of Vinita Park, Randy Gardner, News Director for News 20, City of Black Jack, and Judge Timothy Kelly, City of Florissant, will be this year’s Public Service Award recipients.
The AARP Senior Community Service Program, under the leadership of Ms. Lisa Bishop, and Fletcher E. Wells II of St. Johns Bank and Trust Co. will receive NCI’s 2009 Special Recognition Awards for volunteerism, contributions to civic and charitable organizations.
