‘A Chorus Line’ on Stage At the Muny July 29-Aug. 4

a chorus line graphicA Chorus Line comes to the Muny stage July 29 – Aug. 4. This singular sensation of a musical tells the story of 19 dancers at a final audition, vying for a spot in a Broadway show. A landmark American musical, A Chorus Line has been called “the greatest musical – ever.”

With music by Oscar and Tony winning Marvin Hamlisch, A Chorus Line celebrates the dreams, guts and sweat that we all need to take our place “on the line.” Performances start at 8:15 p.m.

MACKENZIE BELL (Val) is making her Muny debut. Her experience Broadway: Pippin, Sunset Boulevard. Tour: Jersey Boys (1st national, Chicago, Vegas), Flashdance (1st national). Regional/workshops: Savana in Moonshine: That Hee-Haw Musical (DTC), Maureen in RENT (Casa), Carrie (MCC), Chasing Rainbows, Fat Camp, Diner. Elon MT Alum.

 

HOLLY ANN BUTLER (Sheila) is delighted to return to the Muny since playing Lila Dixon in Holiday Inn! Broadway/Off-Broadway: On the Town (Flossie, Claire u/s), How to Succeed… (Hedy/Smitty u/s), Grease (Rizzo u/s), Happiness, Anyone Can Whistle. First national tours: Evita (Eva u/s), Flashdance (Alex u/s), Shrek (Wicked Witch, Fiona u/s), Jersey Boys (Lorraine).

 

JOHN T. WOLFE (Larry) returns to The   Muny for a bucket list show after last being seen in 42nd Street, Holiday Inn, and Spamalot. Other credits include White Christmas national tour, Mary Poppins (dance captain/Northbrook), and Thoroughly Modern Millie (Jimmy u/s) – Paper Mill Playhouse, Anything Goes (dance captain/Evelyn u/s), A Wonderful Life (Sam Wainwright u/s), Holiday Inn, and Mame – Goodspeed Musicals, Grease (Eugene) – North Carolina Theatre, Cabaret (Fritzie), and Hello Dolly.

 

BIANCA MARROQUÍN (Cassie) Born in Monterrey, Mexico, Bianca began her stage career in Mexico City in productions of Beauty and the Beast, Rent, The Vagina Monologues, The Phantom of the Opera, Mary Poppins and Chicago, later making her Broadway debut as “Roxie Hart” in Chicago.
