Is it About Time to Worry About Cards’ 2017 Season

Do we worry about the Cardinals or not? I know a few weeks ago I mentioned not to worry too much because it is a long season but the losses have been piling up. I have heard so many people say get rid of Mike Matheny but I don’t think that is the answer. He has lead this team to the playoffs almost every year he has been manager. We cannot just dump people, especially managers for a slump that the team is having.

Let’s put this into perspective. Every time you had a bad project at work or a slump in sales, everybody called for your job. It’s not fair,

I think someone should be evaluated on a bigger scale basis. Of course there are exceptions but you can’t just fire a head coach for a bad run of games. Actually I can’t say you can’t because it happens all the time but I say with a guy like Matheny who has proven himself to be a winner, let the season play out .1074px-St._Louis_Cardinals_Logo.svg

   Quick question for everyone:

Do you feel cheated when you buy tickets to a game and then the star of the team doesn’t play? Perspective wise I mean a guy like Yadi Molina. I was watching the game over the weekend and he had the night off. I know the kids love him and my kids would be disappointed if they went and he didn’t play. I know an injury is one thing but just for a day off, should games be discounted if a star isn’t playing that night?

Confronting Tough Situations

I was put in an awkward situation this past weekend as I was face-to-face with a family of a child that I had let go from our team a few years ago. The Father shook my hand but the mother did not and turned away and made it very evident that she wanted nothing to do with me. She also, I believe, kept her kids attention from me too.

What are we teaching our kids? Sheltering them to much from anything that might be a tough situation. We are nurturing a generation of kids that cant or wont be able to handle adversity. I’ve been in situations that I really wanted something and was unable to obtain it. I’m glad I struggled because it made me a better person in the long run. Our goal should be to teach children that they can achieve great things in life even through adversity.

Everything will not always go your way but you have to face them head on because in the long run they make you a better person. I look back and some of my most difficult moments in life like losing one of my best friends in college and then losing my best friend as an adult and best man in my wedding. These events have made me a stronger person. It has made me cherish life.

Have a great Independence Holiday and be safe. Honor the law, if your community doesn’t allow shooting fireworks.
