Pulling For Nashville To Take the Cup

The Stanley Cup Playoffs have lived up to the hype. I am glued to the TV. I want the Nashville Predators to win really badly, not only because I am a country music fan and I love seeing all the stars at the games, but I love to see the underdogs win.

This team has been on a roll since the playoffs started, I don’t think anyone gave them a chance at all. The funny thing is that hockey is pretty new to Nashville and when they started they had headsets available for fans to have to listen to announcers explain the game and what was happening on and off the ice. Now it seems like these fans are avid hockey buffs.

I was scared at first that the experienced Pittsburgh Penguins were going to run away with the series after the first two games, but Nashville showed what home ice advantage truly is. The announcers and everyone said that this is the loudest craziest crowd that they have ever heard, even louder than the old Chicago arena and that is saying something.

I am anxious to see the ratings for the series. I really think that the average fan who might not have been paying attention is now because of all of the country music stars who are at the games. I know it seems silly but these are the things that are a marketer’s dream.

I would love to see the Predators win this at home but I think it is going to go all the way to game 7 and that will be in Pittsburgh. Oh well, its been a great series so far and it is now the best of three. Lets go Predators.

Don’t Give up on Cardinals Just Yet

1074px-St._Louis_Cardinals_Logo.svg   Now on to the Cardinals, should we worry? I don’t think so, at least not yet. It is a long season and even though they have been struggling they will get it together, they always do.

It was unfortunate though that they got swept by the Cubs. That was a real moral buster for the fans and I think the players. It is only June folks, let’s not be giving up yet or yelling for Mike Matheny’s job like the fans always do. This team is somewhat young and will bounce back. I don’t even know where to put a finger on the pulse of what is going wrong. There has been questionable hitting, pitching and base running along with some fielding errors that have cost the Birds.

As far as other baseball news, It is a shame that Albert Pujols hits his 600th home run and not many really even care. Would it have been different here in St. Louis, certainly it would have. It would have been highly celebrated. He has about four years on that contract. Will he be able to get to 700? I am not sure, but if I had to guess I would say yes. To bad this guy wasn’t a lifelong Cardinal but that’s what money will do, even if you have enough for 10 generations of your family. No hard feelings though. The best of luck to Albert. Most people now, say Albert who when you ask, how quickly we can forget.
