Rams Could Have Made Better Deal For Cassels; What About Holt, Pace?

BY RANDY GARDNER
Be patient with me this week as I am going to jump all over the world of sports this week. First off, did you hear about the trade that the New England Patriots made with the Kansas City Chiefs. If you didn’t, it is possibly the most lopsided deal I have ever seen in my life covering sports.

Kansas City gave the Patriots a second round draft pick for Matt Cassels and Mike Vrabel. There has to be more to this deal than meets the eye. The reason I bring this up is that the Rams could have made a better run at a trade than that for these two guys especially Matt Cassels.

I think this guy could have come right in and solved our quarterback questions immediately and I think the fans would have loved the move. Also in Rams news, how about Orlando Pace and Tory Holt on the trading blocks.

How will it be to go the Dome to watch this team without those two names in the lineup. No Bruce, Holt, or Pace, man will it be weird.

How about the news with Kurt Warner, San Francisco sent a private jet to pick him up and bring him to the 49ers facility to talk about a job. After not resigning and becoming a free agent, Warner is looking for a 2-year, $14 million a year contract. Arizona offered him 2 years at $10 million a year. I never thought he might leave Arizona but it looks like he might. My advice would be don’t do it. Bargain a deal with Arizona where you will live on with the fans as the man who got them to the Super Bowl. Don’t do what otheres have done and just play for the money.

Ipod Helps Win Championship Game

Onto the world of soccer, did you see the goalkeeper for Manchester United used his Ipod to win a Championship game against Tottenham Hotspur? After regulation before penalty kicks, he went to the sideline and watched every kicker on his ipod and he ended up saving 3 out of the 4 shots. Many people are in an uproar saying this is cheating, but is it?

The Rams take dozens of snapshots and video of every play and then send it to the sidelines immediately so they can change game planning. Is this any different? I don’t think so, for me I think it was a great move, take any advantage that you can get.

I still can’t get to excited about the St. Louis Cardinals yet. I know the team is already kicking off their games in Jupiter but you can’t really tell anything this soon. Openeing day will be upon us soon and that’s when things for me get going. Just like every year though, we look somewhat good on paper but that doesn’t mean anything in the real scheme of things. I will look more into the ups and downs of this Cards lineup over the next few weeks.
