3 Hazelwood Businesses Plan Large Expansions

BY CAROL ARNETT

Three businesses are expanding in Hazelwood. Representatives from all three came before the Hazelwood City Council last week to explain their plans for expansion in public hearings.

Mexican food lovers will be happy to hear that Pueblo Nuevo is expanding. Andres Morales, representing the restaurant, explained that the restaurant was expanding into the space next door. Construction is already underway, Morales said.

There will be a half wall where the current wall is now, Morales said. The restaurant will stay open during construction, Morales said.

Earlier in the meeting, Mayor T. R. Carr congratulated Pueblo Nuevo for being named one of the 35 best restaurants in the metropolitan area by St. Louis magazine.

Trendz Hair and Nail Salon, at 7213 North Lindbergh Boulevard, is also expanding. Lisa Thompson, the salon owner, told the council that she wanted to add tanning services to the salon. “We will go from 1600 to 2400 square feet,” she said. The salon will add six beds of varying strengths, and one stand-up tanning booth.

Cash America of Missouri is also expanding. The pawn shop, at 7733 North Lindbergh Boulevard, is taking over the shop next door, which formerly housed Premier Sewing and Vac. Most of the addition will be used for storage.

No one spoke in opposition at any public hearing and the council held a first reading on bills that would approve each expansion.

In other news, Carr welcomed the two new stores at St. Louis Mills, Dickies and Crocs.
